Gotta hand it to the Europeans. Their political sex scandals are always so much more interesting than ours in America. Seems a photographer from Spanish daily El Pais snapped some long-distance, candid photos of the Italian Prime Minister's mansion. And from what I can tell, Silvio Berlusconi throws some wild parties at his Villa in Sardinia. Although no wrongdoing is alleged, Berlusconi is not happy with this invasion of his privacy. The pictures were taken by Italian photographer Antonello Zappadu from outside the villa during a party for a Czech delegation.
The photos published in El Pais show Berlusconi and mostly young topless female guests strolling at the Villa Certosa a.k.a. Villa "Festiva" on the island of Sardinia or CerdeƱa. One image shows a man, nude and with an erection, standing over a woman. The man with the erection is said to be former Czech Prime Minister Mirek Topolanek, he resigned his office in March. The photos were taken last summer while Topolanek was still the Czech PM. "It is me in the photo," said Mr Topolanek, but he said that the photographs had been doctored to show him with an elect penis.
The prime minister has threatened to sue the newspaper calling the nude photos an invasion of his privacy. On Italian public radio, Berlusconi said:
“I am not frightened. These are innocent photos, there is no scandal, but there has been an aggressive intrusion into my private life. The photos show people bathing in a jacuzzi inside a private property, something party guests were invited to do,”
Nudity and especially nude sunbathing is common in Europe. I guess the scandal is that he had all these naked people running around his mansion and his wife wasn't there. Bill Clinton must be green with envy and trying to think of some international excuse for getting invited to Europe to hang with Berlusconi. Berlusconi, it seems, often invite various artists, dancers, TV hostesses and even head of states to the Villa Certosa. And I am almost sure he has a mistress or many lovers other than his wife. By European standards, I don't think this situation is very much scandalous. It is widely socially acceptable for powerful men in that part of the world to be seen in public with their mistresses. So, this is much to do about nothing but enjoy the pics! LOL... Click on pictures to enlarge.
